Moms, this week is meant to focus on you! When is the last time you soaked in a bath or grabbed a coffee with a friend (and without children in tow)? Lets all schedule twenty minutes in our day that we silence our phone, hibernate the computer, and walk away from all the things that we think need to be done. Use those twenty minutes to clear our minds, relax and rejuvenate! Now go make some time for yourself. If you don't take care of yourself, who will?

I LOVE TO BE PAMPERED! I admit it...I would take a certificate for a massage, facial or pedicure anytime over any other gift. We have so many great places to go indulge, and although I know in a tough economy this is considered an extra. But is it? Don't moms need to be rejuvenated a few times a year so they are feeling fresh and energized and ready to take on the world? That is how I feel once I have spent an hour in la-la land while someone else does all the work! It is always a challenge for moms to carve time out for themselves. We are here to encourage you (and remind ourselves) to find the time for yourself by making this a priority. It is such a treat to get to the salon for a cut, get a manicure or pedicure, or better yet - a massage or other spa service. Our community offers so many wonderful settings to choose from.

Getting out with friends is another way to relax with some adult conversation. Take it easy by going out to dinner or to a movie, get that heart rate up with a walk on the beach or group workout, try something new with like pottery painting, be adventurous and go sing karaoke or go rock climbing, start a book club or go for an old standby by scrapbooking or playing bunco, games, or cards.  Take advantage of the wide array of cultural arts our community offers from film to theater to music.
